One of the main reasons I chose this beach is that you have a higher chance of seeing a sea turtle easily while snorkeling.

Shigira Beach is a beautiful designated swimming area on the south coast of Miyako Island. The beach is next to Shigira Resort, and it take about 15 minutes from Miyako Airport. This beach is the best family-friendly beach because it has a number of facilities such as showers, changing rooms, and restrooms, making it a convenient location for family visitors. The beach is also popular for swimming, snorkeling, and beach activities such as standup paddleboarding (SUP) and kayaking. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of local Okinawan food, and souvenir shops around the beach.
